2nd November 2007 – KBC Peel Hunt Announces Record Fund Raising for New Commercial Property Company
KBC Peel Hunt (KBCPH), the mid-cap investment bank, is delighted to announce that it has successfully raised £247.5m for London & Stamford Property Limited, a new property investment company that is floating on AIM next week and which is being advised by a highly experienced management team, the principals of which are Raymond Mould, Patrick Vaughan and Humphrey Price.
This will be one of the largest real estate flotations on London’s equity markets so far this year, despite the challenging conditions in the global real estate market, and results in a record fund raising in the real estate sector for KBCPH over 2007. It has raised a total £578 million for the property sector so far this year.
KBCPH is acting as broker and nominated adviser to London & Stamford, which will specialize in investing in the commercial property sector.
“We are extremely pleased to have raised £247.5m for this new commercial property investment company, especially in these tough property market conditions. We set out to raise £200m and ended up scaling the issue back to £247.5m. It’s a testament to the strength of the London & Stamford management team and the success of our top-rated specialist property team at KBCPH, and demonstrates our expertise and understanding of the real estate sector. We look forward to working together with London & Stamford and helping to fulfill its plans,” comments Steven Fine, managing director of KBC Peel Hunt.
KBC Peel Hunt has been involved in the following property deals in 2007:
+ London & Stamford – AIM IPO raising £247.5m.
+ Dawnay Day Sirius – AIM IPO raising £185m.
+ Hansteen – £70m placing.
+ Wichford – £75m placing.
KBCPH has raised £578m so far this year for the real estate sector and is now the third largest trader of FTSE and AIM real estate shares in the UK market.
London & Stamford Highlights:
+ KBCPH raised £247.5m.
+ Funds to be spent on investing in commercial property assets in the UK and potentially overseas.
+ Highly-regarded entrepreneurial management team: Raymond Mould, Patrick Vaughan and Humphrey Price bringing their 3rd property company to market (after the success of Arlington Securities plc and Pillar Property plc).
“We are extremely pleased to be working with KBC Peel Hunt. Its advice and experience in the property markets, and access to real estate investors, has proved invaluable. We look forward to developing London & Stamford together with KBCPH going forward,” comments Raymond Mould, chairman of London & Stamford.
