Charles Hall – Head of Research
Charles joined KBC as Head of Research in October 2008. He was Head of Small & Midcap Research for nine years at Panmure Gordon having started his career at Cazenove, where he worked for eight years. Charles was rated the number one analyst in the Consumer Sector in the 2008 Extel awards and was Aim Analyst of the year in 2007. He has also been involved in a large number of flotations and fundraisings.
Geoff Allum – Analyst
Geoff joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2006 and has 25 years’ experience as an equities analyst, starting at Fielding Newson-Smith in 1982 after he graduated from Aston University with a BSc (Hons) in Managerial & Administrative Studies. He has been a director of NatWest County Bank, and worked for Henderson Crosthwaite (later acquired by Investec Bank).
Geoff has specialised in the Support Services sector since 1998. He was rated the 7th best stock picker in the City in 2005 and 2nd best in Commercial Services (he’s been rated in the top three in his sector most years). He also picked up the Analyst of the Year award in 2007.

Tony Alves – Analyst
Tony joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2004 and has 22 years of experience in the oil industry including 16 years with Henderson Crosthwaite and Investec Securities. Over the years, he’s developed strong relationships with institutional investors, and has been involved in many flotations and fundraisings.
He is a graduate of Cambridge University where he read mathematics both as an undergraduate and as a post-graduate research student in the Department of Pure Mathematics. He is also a non-executive director of Ikon Science, a private seismic interpretation software and services company.

Nicholas Batram – Analyst, Research
Nick joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2008 and has over 20 years experience within the investment industry having started his career with Lloyds Private Bank. Prior to joining KBC Peel Hunt Nick held research positions at Collins Stewart and R W Baird - where he was head of the Leisure & Media team. The leisure sector has the been the focus for much of Nick's career and as well as broad sector coverage he has also established a reputation for pioneering research into niche segments of the industry including football clubs, health & fitness and sports businesses. In addition to public listed companies, Nick has significant experience of private leisure companies having provided specialist research on numerous transactions.
John Cahill – Analyst
John joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2006 as a real estate analyst. Before then, he’d worked as a sovereign bonds fund manager at F&C Asset Management. John also spent four years at the Bank of England as a Corporate Finance analyst specialising in smaller quoted companies, and later as a sterling bond dealer/analyst where he managed the Bank of England’s £3 billion sterling bond portfolio. He’s even been voted the number one sell-side analyst in the Cantos City Young Guns poll.
John studied Business and Economics at Durham University, and has an MSc in Economics for Development from Oxford University.

Henry Carver – Analyst
Henry joined KBC in September 2008 after two years at Panmure Gordon where he started his career as an analyst in the Support Services Sector. He now works alongside Andrew Nussey and Geoff Allum and will specialise in recruitment, distribution and business process outsourcing stocks. Prior to joining Panmure he spent two years as a market research analyst with the Business Research Group, taking responsibility for its market-leading coverage of the heating and bathroom building products market in Spain. He holds a degree in Modern Languages (French & Spanish) from Bristol University (BA hons, 2:1).
Matthew Churstain – Analyst
Matthew joined KBC in June 2006 and initially worked as an analyst for the Fund Derivatives Desk of KBC Financial Products before transferring to the KBC Peel Hunt real estate research team in June 2007. Prior to working at KBC Matthew worked for KPMG Auckland as a corporate finance analyst.
Matthew is a commerce graduate from Waikato University in New Zealand and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Dominic Convey – Analyst
Dominic started at KBC Peel Hunt in 2004 as a media and smaller companies analyst and has expanded his coverage to include industrial engineering companies. His prior experience was at Williams de Broë where he spent five years as an equity analyst and in the sales department.
Dominic has a BSc in Economics and Business Economics from the University of Southampton.

Charles Coyne – Analyst
Charles joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2003 and has over 20 years’ equity research experience as a UK and pan-European insurance analyst having worked for Panmure Gordon, Credit Lyonnais and Benfield.
Charles studied Maths at Imperial College and is both an associate of the Royal College of Science (ARCS), and a fellow of the Securities Institute (FSI), he also has an MBA from the University of Liverpool.

Keith Crawford – Analyst
Keith joined KBC Peel Hunt in 1998, and has over 25 years’ experience in the real estate sector, having worked for W Greenwell, HSBC Securities and Merrill Lynch.
Keith is also a qualified chartered accountant, and has an MSc from London Business School.

Dr Paul Cuddon – Analyst
Paul joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2007 following 6 years developing therapies for diseases of the nervous system. After graduating from Birmingham University, Paul completed his PhD at Cambridge, working on the mechanisms underlying stroke.

Andrew Darley – Analyst
Andrew joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2005 after five years as a telecoms analyst with ING Financial Markets. He is now responsible for a range of stocks, from fixed-line telcos and telco maintenance companies to web hosting and software application providers.
In the Extel Starmine survey, Andrew ranked first in the UK, and second in Europe, for telecoms earnings estimate precision in 2003, and third for stock picking in the UK in 2004. The 2005 Rate survey also placed Andrew 11th best analyst in the City across all sectors.

Mike Foster – Analyst
Mike joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2002 and has over 25 years equity market experience having started out in the City as a fund manager in 1982, working for British Rail Pension Funds. Since 1991 he has specialised in providing building-sector analysis for the stockbroking industry, focussing on smaller and medium sized quoted businesses. Mike has previously held sector research positions at Credit Lyonnais and Baird.

Robin Hardy – Analyst
Robin joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2007 and has close to 20 years’ experience having worked as an analyst covering the construction, building materials and technology sectors. An engineering graduate from Sheffield, he worked in the construction industry as a contracts trouble–shooter, then in 1987 started 16 years at WestLB / Panmure Gordon where he was a No.1 analyst rated for the small cap building sector, a top ten small cap analyst across all sectors and regularly top 10 rated for construction large cap. Before returning to the City in 2007, he had successfully run his own internet design and development consultancy for 4 years.

Paul Hickman – Analyst
Paul joined KBC Peel Hunt in 1997 and has over ten years’ experience as a leisure analyst, including eight years’ leisure industry experience with Grand Met.
The Extel Starmine survey ranked Paul fourth top overall stock picker in 2004, and he was rated eighth in the 2001 Reuters survey. He has a double first from Oxford, and is a qualified chartered accountant.

Jonathan Hurn – Analyst
Jonathan Hurn joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2007 and has over 8 years’ equity research experience as a UK and pan-European Industrials analyst having worked for Bridgewell, Panmure Gordon, and Commerzbank. Jonathan was ranked second in the 2006 Starmine Survey for Diversified Industrials earnings estimate precision and third overall for the UK. He is a CFA Charter holder (Chartered Financial Analyst), has a qualification in accounting from the ACCA and an MA and BSc in Geography from the University of Sussex.

Alex Jarvis – Analyst
Alex joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2000 and specialises in the technology sector. In addition to her research on non-client companies, Alex has substantial experience in corporate transactions ranging from pre-IPO raisings to IPOs, secondary offerings and acquisitions. She also has regular contact with institutional investors.
Alex has an MA in Modern Languages from Oxford University and further qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Dr Tom McColm – Analyst
Tom joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2007 with a speciality in the renewable energy sector. Prior to arriving he spent 2 years carrying out technical due diligence on small cap companies in the renewable space, 4 years as a fuel-cell scientist with Ceres Power and 2 years as a post doctoral research fellow at the University of St Andrews developing fuel cell materials. Tom has a PhD in Materials Engineering from The University of California at Berkeley, an MEng in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Idaho and a BA in Materials Science from Oxford University. Prior to his PhD, Tom spent 18 months in the city working as a quantitative analyst in fixed income derivatives.

Andrew Nussey – Analyst
Andrew joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2008 as a support services analyst and has over 11 years of equity research experience. He was previously head of support services research at Altium Securities and prior to that Arbuthnot and Deutsche Bank. During this time Andrew has been involved in a number of major transactions and advisory roles. Before joining the City Andrew was a UK Equity fund manager with General Accident (now part of Morley) and is a chartered accountant.
Andrew has been ranked in all major investor surveys and was recognised in both the the most recent Starmine and Extel surveys as the number one rated analyst in the support services sector.

Milind Parate – Analyst
Milind joined KBC in September 2008 as a Healthcare Equipment & Services analyst, coming with 10 years of healthcare investment banking experience (corporate finance, M&A, equity research). Most recently, he joins from Banc of America Securities in New York City where he was a Vice President, Equity Research Analyst covering Healthcare Facilities for the U.S. market, working on the #2 Institutional Investor ranked team for his sector. Prior to that, he spent time at Thomas Weisel Partners Group as an Associate within their Healthcare Corporate Finance/M&A group, as well as ABN AMRO's Global Healthcare Banking team – both in New York City. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics, holding a M.Sc. Health Policy, Planning & Financing, and the University of Chicago, holding a B.A. Economics.
Robin Savage – Analyst
Robin joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2006 and has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry including 10 years at Panmure Gordon and Credit Lyonais Securities as an equity analyst. During this time Robin has been involved in a number of big transactions, most notably the flotation of Admiral Group & Rightmove.
Before becoming an equity analyst, Robin spent four years in the insurance industry for Mercantile & General Re and ARIG, and six years working for Coopers & Lybrand, specialising in insurance and qualifying as a chartered accountant. Robin studied Economics & Statistics at Exeter University.

Andrew Shepherd-Barron – Director, Research
Andrew joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2001 and is a director of equity research. He has been covering a number of sectors including alternative energy, energy technology and carbon emissions, building on his time previously analyzing pan-European utilities at ABN Amro. He has 20 years’ experience in equity research and has run the French equity research teams at both ABN Amro and Dresdner Kleinwort, where he was number 1 rated individual analyst on France.
He is a member of the European Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Platform, a qualified chartered accountant (PwC) and a graduate in Economics (BA Hons) from Exeter University.

John Stevenson – Analyst
John joined KBC in 2008 having covered the General Retail sector for eight years at Charterhouse and Shore Capital. After graduating with an Economics degree, John qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1997 and went on to work within the retail sector at Matalan plc. John was ranked fourth in the latest Extel Survey for UK Retail.
Simon Strong – Analyst
Simon joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2006 and has over fifteen year’s experience covering UK equities of which the last eight have been as a software and IT services specialist. His previous sell side experience was gained at Panmure Gordon and prior to that he worked on the buy side at Rea Brothers.
Simon was ranked second in the 2005 Extel Starmine Survey for UK software stock pickers. He graduated from University of Wales, Bangor in Agricultural Economics.

Deborah Seyman
Deborah joined KBC Peel Hunt in 2007 from Panmure Gordon, where she was head of research production. She has also held a similar role at Lazard Capital Markets, which she originally joined as an analyst in 1995.
